Those trailers showed exactly what the final game was going to be, anyone with half a brain at least cancelled their pre-orders the moment any of those final 3 trailers released. …..Nor Did bioshock have a fake E3 demo, the game was in development for 3 years plenty of time for them to actually change gears, and back to the moron thing who actually sees these demos or trailers from 2 or 3 years prior to a game actually releasing and thinks that every single little thing is going to be in the final product especially considering that “demo” was from 2011….People like you are obviously the reason companies have to deal with these stupid frivolous lawsuits….There was MORE than enough warning that the game was crap at least a Month before it released….ONCE AGAIN IGNORANCE IS NOT AN EXCUSE

While we can debate whether or not the sphere grid is good, but FFX remains one of the best based purely on the story and the characters. This game has the best cast of characters (even better than VI or XII). Also, BlitzBall is the best mini game of any title in the franchise, and I say that as a huge Triple Triad fanatic.
If you don’t like the turn-based combat, then XII might be a great game for you. A lot of people didn’t like the gambit system, but it provided a nice alternative to TBC. That story and cast were also top notch.

….notice how now one mentions XIII in any discussion of a good Final Fantasy game…for good reason

It’s my personal favorite in the series (with VII close behind). I’m a huge fan of the series, although I never played any of them from XI and up (the MMO step killed it for me). My first RPG was Earthbound, then Chrono Trigger, so when VII came out I was more than happy to have another good RPG to jump into — it was a great time for gaming.

The unfortunate thing is that there’s no sign of them selling the licences thus far and besides Monkey Island a lot have not been used in years. As a result Disney might want to keep ahold of them for potential profit upon making a game, but feel there’s not a big enough target audience to appeal to with a major title.

That’s just my two cents though, i’m very likely wrong about this as we’ve little info to go on.
