I was having a conversation with someone recently about upcoming games that have caught our attention. As we discussed The Witcher 3, The Division, and Lords of the Fallen, one of the games that came up was Styx: Master of Shadows.

Styx was unfortunately written off quickly. The verdict? It looks like a cross between Thief and Assassin’s Creed. Give us something new, we said. But the developers may have us beat with one solid point: Assassin’s Creed was awesome.

Styx seems to pull inspiration from Assassin’s Creed, but also adds quite a few moves of its own—which may actually be a good thing.

The developers at Cyanide Studios even released a video to nail down this point, fittingly called “Assassin’s Green 2,” where we watch the goblin antihero stealthily strut his stuff.

Not too shabby, amiright? Good timing also. Styx is set for release on October 7 on PS4, XBox One, and PC.
