Ambient aim to Kickstart afterlife with Death Inc.
Coughs and sneezes spread diseases and Ambient Studios invites you to make a successful business out of it.
Death Inc. will see you play as freelance reaper Grim T. Livingstone, unhappy with his job at the Ministry of Mortality, Grim sets up his own corporation specialising in “outsourced soul aggregation and bespoke mortality solutions.”
Players will guide the entrepreneur through 1660’s England, marketing his unique product of the bubonic plague by infecting livestock, noblemen and even wenches.
The PC & Mac strategy game is being crafted by former developers of Media Molecule, Lionhead, Criterion and EA with team members having previously worked on titles like LittleBigPlanet and Battlefield as well as the Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchises.
Players will be able to harvest souls of those who have met their demise to unlock new powers and expand your own empire of mortality that profits on the misery and suffering of others.
Enemies will use any tool at their disposal including pitchforks to keep you from spreading the sickness among the medieval setting.
The developers hope the game will do away with confusing drop down boxes that can plague other strategy games by having you simply ‘paint’ orders using your mouse.
A mixture of screenshots and concept art showcasing the vibrant art style has been released showing that the afterlife business is not quite as drab or dull as you might think.
The studio is launching a Kickstarter project on February 4th to raise funds in order reach the development’s completion.
