Path to the Sky is on the Right Path
It’s always a good day when you are introduced to an indie game that excites you, and today is a good day.
What’s got me so excited is a work in progress called ‘Path to the Sky.’ It’s a platformer puzzle adventure that follows around what seems to be a guy in a business suit on his path to learn the secrets of the ancient relic of the sky. What’s the ancient relic of the sky? Is it the sun? The Moon? Dead pixels? Who knows, but it’s intriguing.
What’s even more exciting is the fact that both the graphics and the music are reminiscent of two of my favorite indie games: Fez and Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP. My first thought when watching the videos was ‘so this is what a baby between those two would look like,’ and while the perspective shifting mechanic of Fez has faded into recessive allelism, the jump-through-the-sky-on-geometry theme has stayed and has been overhauled with the really endearing graphics of Sword and Sworcery, just like the music.
Follow the puzzles to uncover the secrets of the ancient relic of the sky. As far as slogans go, that’s enough to get my attention. This is still a W.I.P so the wait for it will be substantial, but from what I’ve seen and read I think it will be well worth it.
