I recently attended the Machinima Inside Gaming Awards (IGA) 2012. It made quite a stir last year, and it was even more spectacular this year. It was an amazing confluence of the best of modern gaming. Taking place at the Avalon in Hollywood, the 4th IGA was an outstanding tribute and celebration and to an amazing year of gaming.
This was the year that lucky gamers got to play Halo 4, Fez, The Walking Dead: Season 1 Journey, Asura’s Wrath, and Hotline Miami, to name a few— creativity mixed in with the more mainstream blockbusters, as well as some great indies proving once again that gaming can provide experiences no other medium can even come close to duplicating.
Fans and media alike, as well as the great Machinima staff were present, and the atmosphere was fun and free-spirited. Adam Kovic was the jovial and witty host, and he humorously took the audience on a ride through the show.
Interspersed with entertaining shorts from various Machinima directors, the show was a great mix of original content and game recapping that constantly kept things feeling fresh.
