Magrunner is Portal Meets Cthulhu
The folks at 3AM Games have something odd brewing in their gaming labs with Magrunner. Their upcoming puzzler will have players using physics and magnetism in the near future, where they will apparently then slip through some dimensional rift into the dark world of the Cthulhu Mythos, pulled right from the dark imagination of H.P. Lovecraft.
The game takes place in 2050 during the Magtech competition, where you and six other competitors have been selected to help promote a new technology based on magnetism. You’ll have a magtech glove that can give objects a positive or negative charge, and then use these newly-magnetized objects to attract or repel each other for plenty of puzzling madness.
Yet, it’s not all fun and games. As you progress, you’ll soon find there is something more sinister at work in the tournament and you’ll find yourself plunged into a parallel universe filled with the dark creatures imagined by H.P. Lovecraft. With your life at stake and with some of the freakiest monsters ever imagined wanting to possibly put your brain in a jar, your skills will be put to the test.
Magrunner is set for release on the Playstation Network, Xbox LIVE, and PC.
