For our From the Devs feature, we find indie games with potential and let the developers tell you about their projects. Today we have Marek Rosa, part of the development team behind Miner Wars 2081.

TechZwn: What’s your game and what’s it about?

Rosa: Miner Wars 2081 is a 6DOF action-survival space-shooter simulation game set in the year 2081, 10 years after the destruction of all planetary objects in the Solar System. The player controls a mining ship on an adventure across the Solar System.

TechZwn: What makes your game unique?

Rosa: Completely destructible environment, open world, 6DOF action (last games like this were Descent and Forsaken), RPG elements. In general there’s not enough space fighting games.

TechZwn: Where did the inspiration come from?

Rosa: Something from all these games – Forsaken, Descent, Tunneler, Call of Duty, Mount & Blade. And of course my own dream game I personally wanted to play. Something that has survival elements but still gets you through the story.

TechZwn: Is there anything you saw in modern gaming that you’d like to change or build on with your game?

Rosa: I like modern games, for the most part. What I wanted to change is to put the player in a different environment than what he can experience in other games. I wanted him to be really immersed by space and asteroids around him, to explore the exterior and interior of a space station, and really feel like he is there and he can do anything he wants.

TechZwn: Is there anything else you’d like to say or talk about regarding your game (or gaming in general)?

Rosa: we are going to release BETA very soon, if nothing goes wrong then in a couple of days. Goodbye to ALPHA stage!
