In this latest video from MechWarrior Online, we see a hazy-green acrid world of industrial complexes and gaseous fishers. In the previous video, we’ve seen how icy environments will cool your weapons. Caustic Valley on the other-hand will do the opposite, forcing careful heat management.

Not just weapons will be affected, according to the official post, “It is much easier to hide your ’Mech in the thermal signal of much of the map”. We can assume this means lower radar range, meaning more chances to ambush, and a greater dependence on scouts. At the end of the video, we can see a flamer in action. Assuming they stay true to the table top, we can expect to see people bring them to Caustic Valley to speed along emergency shut-downs.

Players will have to consider environmental effects when planning their load-outs and strategies, no doubt.
