In a clash between Limbo, Shadow Complex, and The Walking Dead, Tequila Works’ ‘Deadlight’ has emerged from the ashes and, in the newest trailer, showcases a zombie experience worth waiting for.

The game features a side-scrolling style of gameplay that includes a highly interactive environment. Players will control a man named Randall Wayne as he treks across Canada to overcome the many challenges that an undead world may present. Equipped with nothing more than what they can scavenge, players will often result to more unconventional ways to fend off an opponent. In the trailer, I happened to notice the player dropping cars on top of the walkers and wielding weapons such as a wood axe and a slingshot.

The developer’s blog reveals a number of Randall’s journal entries that give readers a better understanding of who he is and where he comes from. The most recent entry highlights a Russian conspiracy that may have something to do with the outbreak of the infection.

Deadlight is currently set to be release in the Summer of 2012 for the XBLA. Check out the newest trailer as well as Randall’s journal entries below.
