Giving a new meaning to social media, Twitter has allowed people to stay updated with the daily life of other users. Via “tweets,” (status updates that include everything from trips to the grocery store to bowel movements), the community is never left in the dark on who, what, when, where, or how a person goes about their day. Subscribers can also comment on the profile of other users, and believe it or not, most celebrities read these comments.

With comments both naughty and nice, twitter allows celebrities know how some of their fans truly feel. To celebrate Twitter’s sixth anniversary, Jimmy Kimmel Live hosted a short where celebrities read their own hate-tweets from “fans.” The segment features stars such as Will Farrell, Louis C.K., and even Kathy Griffin, as they read the comments directed to them by the Twitter community.
