Fans of Minecraft may be given the opportunity to bring their creations to life. Mojang has begun the process of, hopefully, getting a contract with the LEGO company for the development of  official Minecraft LEGOs. The Mojang crew is currently working with CUUSOO, who act as a liaison between inventors and the LEGO company. To gain the attention of the LEGO hierarchy, the builders must pitch the idea to LEGO and gain 10,000 supporters in order for an official review by the board.

Minecraft is about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine in the virtual world. You can build anything you imagine with LEGO bricks in the physical world. Minecraft and LEGO were meant to be together.

As a kind gesture, Mojang has agreed to donate 1% of the royalties from the LEGO CUUSOO project to a charity. If you wish to do your part and make LEGO Minecraft a reality, visit the CUUSOO Minecraft page and show your support. They are nearly half way towards the 10,000 mark with just over 4,00 supporters. Mojang’s Daniel Kaplan calls for the help from fellow Minecraft and LEGO fans alike in his tweet “We are working directly with LEGO to make this happen. Please vote again :)”
