Nintendo has launched the official website for “The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword,” set for release on the Wii November 20. The new website includes trailers and screenshots of the upcoming game, showing off cell shaded graphics and vast worlds ranging from floating cities to deserts and lava pits.
A limited-edition bundle of the game will include a golden controller, and anyone who pre-ordered the game will get a music CD with orchestral arrangements performed at the Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony Concert (the game is still up for pre-order). The game will introduce Nintendo’s new “full motion controls,” leveraging Wii MotionPlus to synchronize movements of the player with Link’s. There is also an upgraded combat system, which Nintendo claims on their website as the “most realistic sword combat of any game to date, turning every encounter into a challenge of both brains and brawn.”
Players will be able to explore the massive in-game world on the back of a bird, which takes the player down from the floating city, where the game seems to start, to the world below. In the spirit of the series, players will face puzzles, traps, and dungeons scattered throughout the world.
The limited-edition version will cost $69.99, and the regular version will go for $49.99.
